We’re only two weeks away from the Live Free Or Die Tattoo Expo! Everything is falling in to place as we prepare for the biggest tattoo event in New Hampshire of the year. If you’ve been on the internet lately, you’ve probably seen our ads for our #lfod18 contests that we’re hosting this year! We have a bunch of fun competitions planned and we wanted to make a blog post to go over what we’ll be doing, the rules, and other useful information!
First up is the annual pin up contest! This year, the theme of the pageant is “Space/Alien/Sci-Fi”. Contestants will not only be judged on the outfit that they’ve put together but also on their crowd interaction and creativity during their time on stage! The beautiful Marlo Marquise will be hosting the event and contestants will be voted on by a panel of three or four judges. Photos can be taken with April Piotrowski at the Black Mill Photography booth (#128, right next to the stage). Our sponsors this year include Deep Eddy Vodka, Oomph Salon from Portsmouth, NH, Come In Peace Bracelets by Amie, Cursed Life Clothing, and Manchester Adult Lifestyles. Since this is an all ages event, we ask that there be absolutely no nudity! To register for the pageant, you will need the $5 entry fee, and fill out a form here or you can wait until Friday 7/20 or Saturday 7/21 until 8:45pm! The contest will commence at 9pm on Saturday, 7/21!
Next up is the beard and mustache competition! This contest will be hosted by the Bearded Sinners Club, an organization that is drawn together by the love and appreciation of the beard. They aim to make their communities better by giving as much back as they can and are completely nonprofit. This year, they will be hosting our beard and mustache competition! Sign ups for this will be going all day Friday and Saturday until 6:45pm. Starting time for the contest is 7pm on Saturday, 7/21. There will be a first and second prize for the best beard as well as a first and second place for best mustache. A panel of three or four judges will make the descisions based on participants individuality, crowd interaction, and beard upkeep. Winners will get a trophy along with some goodies donated by the Bearded Sinners and can have their photos taken at the Black Mill Photography’s booth (#128) right next to the stage. The sponsors this year include Slow & Low Whiskey, Killer Beard Oil, The Polished Man, and Manchester Adult Lifestyles!
As for the tattoo contests, there will be multiple catagories as always but this year, we added a new category: Expo Theme – Sci-Fi! We will of course have best tattoo and piercing for all three days of the expo. First place gets $100, second place gets $50! Photos of participants and their artists are strongly encouraged at the Black Mill Photography booth right next to the stage! If you would like more information on categories and times for the tattoo and piercing contests, you can find them here.
We can’t wait to see everyone at the expo! Please feel free to message us if you have any questions!
